Reminder about Outbreaks

Please remember it is not just outbreaks of diarrhoea and vomiting which need to be reported to the infection prevention and control team.

What should be reported as an outbreak?
E.g. respiratory illness / vomiting / diarrhoea / rashes / flu like symptoms

If in doubt ring the above number for advice.

 

Autism Friendly Screenings every month

THE MUPPETS (U):
19 February at 11.30am.

Watch selected films in an autism friendly environment; lights up and sound on low with no trailers, freedom to move around the cinema and to bring your own refreshments.

The Autumn SPIC Seminar & AGM

 

The SPIC seminar and AGM will take place at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Conference Centre, Mytton Oak Road, Shrewsbury on the 22 September.

Migration - have your say

SPIC is supporting Skills for Care in its consultation on the the Government's commitment to introducing an annual limit on the number of non-European Union economic migrants being admitted to the UK. The Migration Advisory Committee has been asked by the Government to consult and provide advice on the level at which the first annual limit on migration should be set for Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the Points Based System.

End of Life Care

A total of 32 organisations from Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire attended the recent Baseline Review of  End of Life Care for People with a Learning Disability. This was supported by The Special Interest Group and End of life Care Team, in conjunction with Taking Part Shropshire & Telford, Severn Hospice, family carers, providers of services and Mencap.
