Sue Bell Falls Prevention Project Lead/Practitioner

Sue will be leading and delivering a project for 12 months to support Care Homes in Shropshire with training, information, resources and support to manage and prevent the incidence of falls. This new project is funded by Shropshire CCG and Shropshire Council in conjunction with SPIC and aims to reduce the number of elderly service users falling and also reduce the number of hospital admissions due to falls whilst supporting the development of care staff knowledge and skills falls prevention and management.

 

Sue is a highly experienced nurse having started her nurse training in 1977 and has gained broad clinical experience from working in general hospitals across all specialities and as a Theatre & Recovery Sister, Specialist Nurse in Pain management, Nurse Consultant in Chronic Disease Management (in the telehealth sector) and in Community nurse led clinics, as well as in specialist services, university education, the private sector and care homes.

Sue was one of the first nurses admitted to membership of The British Pain Society and was a committee member of the West Midland Pain Society for three years.

Sue’s qualifications include:

  • M.Sc. Pain Management.
  • Certificate of Education
  • City & Guilds 7307 Adult Education Teacher Certificate
  • S.R.N.

With a keen interest in education Sue has always grasped the opportunity to teach within each post she has held and enjoys seeing learners achieving their goals and believes that learning should be fun.
