Workforce Development Fund (WDF) 2018/19

We have tendered for the Workforce Development Fund for 2018/19 and we are currently awaiting the outcome from Skills for Care. As soon as we hear, we will finalise our 2018/19 Funding Pack and it will be emailed to you.

Changes to WDF in 2018/19

In 2018/19 the Workforce Development Fund is changing due to the move to the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and the Apprenticeship Standards. There are still many qualifications that will continue to be funded by WDF but you will need to know which ones and what will be different. Further details of the changes can be found on the Skills for Care website: https://tinyurl.com/y8pek4fd

Some of the key changes to claiming WDF in 2018/19 will be:

  • Qualifications on both the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) and Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) can only be claimed for completed qualifications.
  • For all qualifications the evidence required to support claims will be a copy of the learner’s certificate and for QCF qualifications this will still need to include the full unit breakdown. Unit summary sheets will not be accepted as evidence by Skills for Care in 2018/19.
  • 2018/19 will be the final year for claiming QCF qualifications. This means that if the qualification is not completed, certificated and claimed in 2018/19, it will not be funded through the WDF.
  • The 60 credit limit will no longer apply in 2018/19 and will be replaced by a financial limit that allows the qualification with the highest funding value to be claimed for a learner within a single funding year.
  • Skills for Care will not fund all health and social care RQF qualifications so it is important to check the list of what will be funded before you commission any learning and development. https://tinyurl.com/y83cugff
