New CRB Application Form
From July 26th 2010 the CRB will only accept applications made using the new style (purple) CRB form. Please complete all future CRB applications using the new style form.
Any applications sent in on the old style (white) form will be rejected. Please destroy any stocks of the old style form that you have.
Please refer to the applicants e-guide that can be downloaded from the CRB website for further guidance. Please also read the latest CRB form guidance that was sent out to members in August 2010.

New CRB Continuation Sheet
In line with the new CRB form, a new continuation sheet has been introduced. This is to be used when providing further information that will not fit on the CRB application form e.g further address history, surname history or identity document details.

New SPIC CRB Form Guidance
The new CRB form guidance aims to reduce the amount of common mistakes that are currently being made as a result of the new form. This will help to reduce errors and minimise subsequent delays that will occur if forms have to be returned.

ISA Adult First Service Continues
The ISA Adult First service will continue until further notice whilst the CRB await further details of the remodelling of the Vetting and Barring Scheme.
The service is exclusively available to the Health and Social Care sector and checks are available only in exceptional circumstances, where it is necessary to take such action because there is a real danger that staffing levels will fall below statutory obligations.
An ISA Adult first request can only be processed when the CRB have received a fully completed and valid CRB application form. The check cannot be done alone without a CRB application.
SPIC will continue to process the ‘ISA Adult First’ checks alongside the enhanced CRB checks.

The current SPIC fees for CRB are as follows:

Enhanced Check: £50.00
ISA Adult First: £9.60

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the office on 01743 860011.

It is essential that you download the applicant’s guidance for completing the new form from the CRB website which comes in the form of an ‘e-guide’. This useful guide can be found at http://www.crbeguide.co.uk.
